Ante esta situaci\u00f3n, se llevar\u00e1n a cabo actividades de concientizaci\u00f3n y prevenci\u00f3n en el marco del D\u00eda Mundial de la Obesidad.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan la 4\u00ba Encuesta Nacional de Factores de Riesgo, San Juan encabeza el ranking nacional de prevalencia de obesidad por autorreporte en la poblaci\u00f3n de mayores de 18 a\u00f1os, con un promedio de 34,4. \u00abEn porcentaje, San Juan es la provincia que tiene m\u00e1s personas con obesidad\u00bb, expres\u00f3 la Dra. Chiappa.<\/p>\n<p>Este martes 4 de marzo, la delegaci\u00f3n local de la Sociedad Argentina de Nutrici\u00f3n (SAN) invita a la comunidad a participar de una caminata que busca visibilizar la problem\u00e1tica y concientizar sobre la importancia de la prevenci\u00f3n y el tratamiento de la obesidad.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abEl prop\u00f3sito de la jornada es sensibilizar a la poblaci\u00f3n sobre la obesidad, el estigma que enfrentan las personas que la padecen, y la necesidad de prevenir y tratarla\u00bb, explic\u00f3 la Dra. Mar\u00eda Ang\u00e9lica Chiappa, socia responsable del SAN en San Juan.<\/p>\n<p>La caminata, que se realizar\u00e1 en simult\u00e1neo en todo el pa\u00eds, tendr\u00e1 su punto de encuentro frente al Centro C\u00edvico de San Juan a las 19 horas. Se recomienda a los participantes asistir con una remera blanca y una botella de agua.<\/p>\n<p>La Dra. Chiappa define a la obesidad como \u00abuna enfermedad cr\u00f3nica\u00bb, cuyo \u00ab\u00f3rgano enfermo es el tejido adiposo inflamatorio, el cual infiltra otros \u00f3rganos tales como el ri\u00f1\u00f3n, h\u00edgado y cerebro, y produce enfermedades cardiovasculares, renales y metab\u00f3licas, como diabetes, hipertensi\u00f3n y c\u00e1ncer\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>La falta de una ley nacional que reconozca a la obesidad como enfermedad es otro de los puntos que preocupa a los especialistas. \u00abNecesitamos un respaldo legal para que se implementen pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas efectivas para la prevenci\u00f3n y el tratamiento de la obesidad\u00bb, se\u00f1al\u00f3 la Dra.
