Pero<strong> nunca voy a poder olvidarme del ruido que hac\u00edan los cuerpos al impactar contra el suelo<\/strong>\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3 Drew en una entrevista por Zoom con <strong>LA NACION<\/strong> en 2021 desde Nueva York, donde sigue trabajando para la agencia Associated Press (AP).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-span-8 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2 xl:col-span-8 xl:col-start-5 max-w-550 md:max-w-635 mb-16\">\n<p class=\"ds-custom-paragraph font-tertiary text-20 leading-[150%] tracking-[-0.1px] text-left\">Pese a los a\u00f1os transcurridos, Drew no encontraba las palabras precisas para definir ese ruido seco, que lo sigue perturbando.<strong> \u201cMi esposa dice que yo uso mi c\u00e1mara fotogr\u00e1fica como filtro para tapar lo que siento\u201d<\/strong>, confes\u00f3.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-span-8 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2 xl:col-span-8 xl:col-start-5 max-w-550 md:max-w-635 mb-16\">\n<figure>\n<div class=\"w-full flex justify-center bg-neutral-50\">\n<div class=\"max-md:border-x-0 border-1 border-neutral-200 w-full aspect-3\/2\">\n<div class=\"relative overflow-hidden h-full w-full\"><picture><source srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lanacion.com.ar\/resizer\/v2\/una-persona-cae-desde-la-torre-norte-del-world-TU5IHHWAI5AAJECYLOZO5X45ZU.JPG?auth=fdd771be601dbd1b600e3b7878c0d8f82b8d54db0219c0e048b89ec894ee284c&amp;width=780&amp;height=624&amp;quality=70&amp;smart=true\" media=\"(min-width: 768px)\"\/><\/picture><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"py-8 space-x-8\"><span class=\"font-normal text-base-default text-16 text-center leading-[140%] tracking-[-0.3px]\">Una persona cae desde la torre norte del World Trade Center de Nueva York el martes 11 de septiembre de 2001 despu\u00e9s de que terroristas estrellaran dos aviones secuestrados<\/span><span class=\"font-normal text-base-light text-16 text-center leading-[140%] tracking-[-0.3px]\">Richard Drew &#8211; AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-span-8 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2 xl:col-span-8 xl:col-start-5 max-w-550 md:max-w-635 mb-16\">\n<p class=\"ds-custom-paragraph font-tertiary text-20 leading-[150%] tracking-[-0.1px] text-left\">Entre las 2600 v\u00edctimas que dejaron las ca\u00eddas de las Torres Norte y Sur, las autoridades forenses no distinguieron a los que murieron como consecuencia del colapso y los que saltaron de los edificios, pero los registros de videos y fotogr\u00e1ficos estiman que <strong>el n\u00famero de las personas que se lanzaron por las ventanas fue de entre 100 y 200 personas. <\/strong>La mayor\u00eda ser\u00edan de la Torre Norte, impactada a las 8.46 por un avi\u00f3n de American Airlines entre los pisos 94 y 98.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-span-8 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2 xl:col-span-8 xl:col-start-5 max-w-550 md:max-w-635 mb-16\">\n<p class=\"ds-custom-paragraph font-tertiary text-20 leading-[150%] tracking-[-0.1px] text-left\">En tanto, un avi\u00f3n de United Airlines golpe\u00f3 la Torre Sur a las 9.02 entre los pisos 78 y 84.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-span-8 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2 xl:col-span-8 xl:col-start-5 max-w-550 md:max-w-635 mb-16\">\n<p class=\"ds-custom-paragraph font-tertiary text-20 leading-[150%] tracking-[-0.1px] text-left\">Esos 16 minutos de diferencia dieron tiempo para una mayor evacuaci\u00f3n en la Torre Sur, que adem\u00e1s se derrumb\u00f3 media hora antes. Y el impacto, casi veinte pisos m\u00e1s arriba en la primera torre, concentr\u00f3 mucho m\u00e1s el humo y el fuego en lo que quedaba hasta el tope en el piso 110, y <strong>seguramente aument\u00f3 la sensaci\u00f3n de las v\u00edctimas de una muerte segura.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-span-8 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2 xl:col-span-8 xl:col-start-5 max-w-550 md:max-w-635 mb-16\">\n<p class=\"ds-custom-paragraph font-tertiary text-20 leading-[150%] tracking-[-0.1px] text-left\">\u201cYo creo que lo m\u00e1s perturbador para la gente cuando mira la foto no es tanto la imagen en s\u00ed del hombre que cae,<em> <\/em>que no es violenta; no se ve sangre ni cuerpos deformados. Tras el primer impacto, recibi\u00f3 un llamado de la agencia para <strong>trasladarse al World Trade Center. <\/strong>Tom\u00f3 el metro hasta la estaci\u00f3n Chambers Street, a unos 400 metros de las torres, y luego se acerc\u00f3 caminando hasta quedar a un centenar de metros, donde ya pudo ver los dos edificios en llamas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-span-8 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2 xl:col-span-8 xl:col-start-5 max-w-550 md:max-w-635 mb-16\">\n<p class=\"ds-custom-paragraph font-tertiary text-20 leading-[150%] tracking-[-0.1px] text-left\">\u201cQued\u00e9 parado junto a un polic\u00eda de la ciudad de Nueva York y una enfermera. De pronto, la mujer dijo: <strong>\u2018\u00a1Oh Dios, miren eso!\u2019<\/strong>, y los tres miramos hacia arriba y vimos gente que ca\u00eda del edificio. Instintivamente <strong>tom\u00e9 mi c\u00e1mara y comenc\u00e9 a tomar fotograf\u00edas, mientras escuchaba el ruido que hac\u00edan los cuerpos al golpear contra el suelo\u201d, <\/strong>record\u00f3 Drew.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-span-8 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2 xl:col-span-8 xl:col-start-5 max-w-550 md:max-w-635 mb-16\">\n<p class=\"ds-custom-paragraph font-tertiary text-20 leading-[150%] tracking-[-0.1px] text-left\">Debido al alto n\u00famero de v\u00edctimas, result\u00f3 imposible identificar con precisi\u00f3n al <em>\u201cFalling Man\u201d <\/em>a partir de las 12 fotograf\u00edas que tom\u00f3 Drew durante <strong>su salto, que se produjo a las 9.41, 47 minutos antes del colapso de esa torre. <\/strong>Por su vestimenta se especula con que podr\u00eda ser el chef <strong>Norberto Hern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>, que trabajaba en Windows of the World en el piso 106, o el ingeniero de sonido<strong> Jonathan Briley<\/strong>, que tambi\u00e9n cumpl\u00eda tareas all\u00ed. Pero no hay nada seguro. Parad\u00f3jicamente los dos nombres, el de Hern\u00e1ndez y el de Briley, aparecen juntos en la fuente que recuerda hoy a las miles de v\u00edctimas en el lugar.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><h2 class=\"font-primary font-w-bold text-subheading-lg text-left\"><span>Un cierre<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"col-span-8 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2 xl:col-span-8 xl:col-start-5 max-w-550 md:max-w-635 mb-16\">\n<p class=\"ds-custom-paragraph font-tertiary text-20 leading-[150%] tracking-[-0.1px] text-left\">Drew record\u00f3 a <strong>LA NACION <\/strong>otra historia que ayud\u00f3 a reconstruir gracias a sus varias fotograf\u00edas de las personas que saltaron de las torres. En 2006 se comunic\u00f3 con la agencia AP Richard Pecorella, cuya novia de 52 a\u00f1os, Karen Juday, trabajaba en el piso 101. Y, <strong>luego de recorrer varias im\u00e1genes, finalmente hallamos la foto de Karen entre las personas que saltaron<\/strong>. Creo que sorprende mucho la simetr\u00eda del <em>Falling Man <\/em>con las l\u00edneas del edificio, y hasta la aparente <strong>calma y resignaci\u00f3n <\/strong>con la que est\u00e1 cayendo. Es casi una imagen de armon\u00eda. Lo que no se ve es lo que da dramatismo a la foto.<strong> Es el registro de apenas un instante en la vida de una persona.
