Seg\u00fan The New York Times<\/em><\/a>, la discusi\u00f3n comenz\u00f3 pocas despu\u00e9s del despegue del vuelo LS896 y escal\u00f3 con rapidez. En videos difundidos en X se observa a dos hombres intercambiando insultos hasta que la confrontaci\u00f3n pasa a los golpes. La situaci\u00f3n se descontrol\u00f3 al punto de que otros viajeros tuvieron que intervenir.<\/strong><\/p>\n

En medio de la situaci\u00f3n ca\u00f3tica, una tripulante se subi\u00f3 a un asiento y grit\u00f3 para intentar frenar la pelea<\/strong>. Finalmente, uno de los presentes logr\u00f3 inmovilizar a uno de los involucrados con una llave en el cuello, lo que permiti\u00f3 contener la situaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

A ra\u00edz del incidente, el comandante desvi\u00f3 la aeronave a la capital belga, unas tres horas despu\u00e9s del inicio de un vuelo cuya duraci\u00f3n prevista era de cinco. Una vez en tierra, la polic\u00eda abord\u00f3 el avi\u00f3n y retir\u00f3 a los pasajeros se\u00f1alados como responsables del enfrentamiento. <\/strong>El viaje a Manchester se reanud\u00f3 a las 22 (hora local).<\/p>\n

En un comunicado, la aerol\u00ednea atribuy\u00f3 el incidente al \u201ccomportamiento inaceptable de dos pasajeros conflictivos\u201d y confirm\u00f3 que ambos recibieron una prohibici\u00f3n permanente para volar con la empresa. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s, anticip\u00f3 que buscar\u00e1 recuperar los costos generados por el desv\u00edo del vuelo. <\/strong>\u201cComo aerol\u00ednea orientada a las familias, mantenemos una pol\u00edtica de tolerancia cero frente a conductas disruptivas. No es la primera vez que Jet2 sanciona con dureza este tipo de comportamientos<\/strong>, reconstruy\u00f3 el diario estadounidense. En 2022, la empresa reclam\u00f3 unas 50.000 libras a dos hermanos por un incidente similar que tambi\u00e9n deriv\u00f3 en el desv\u00edo de un vuelo,<\/strong> adem\u00e1s de imponerles una prohibici\u00f3n de por vida. En 2017, otra pareja fue vetada tras protagonizar un enfrentamiento f\u00edsico durante un trayecto que oblig\u00f3 a aterrizar preventivamente.<\/p>\n

Este tipo de episodios, conocidos como air rage<\/em>, aumentaron en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os. De acuerdo con datos citados por The New York Times, la Administraci\u00f3n Federal de Aviaci\u00f3n de Estados Unidos detect\u00f3 un aumento cercano al 400% en los estallidos violentos a bordo entre 2019 y 2025<\/strong>, un fen\u00f3meno que expertos vinculan, entre otros factores, con la tensi\u00f3n y el hacinamiento propios de los vuelos comerciales.<\/p>\n
