El gobierno de M\u00e9xico anunci\u00f3 este jueves, en el marco del D\u00eda Internacional de los Trabajadores, que reducir\u00e1 de manera gradual la jornada laboral de 48 a 40 horas semanales<\/strong> para 2030. En ese contexto, miles de ciudadanos se manifestaron en las calles a favor de la reforma impulsada por el oficialismo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
La decisi\u00f3n fue acordada en una reuni\u00f3n que mantuvieron la presidenta mexicana, Claudia Sheinbaum, y miembros de su equipo con l\u00edderes sindicales durante la conmemoraci\u00f3n del 1 de mayo. La reducci\u00f3n de la jornada laboral fue una de sus promesas de campa\u00f1a <\/strong>antes de iniciar su mandato en octubre pasado.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
Durante el encuentro en el palacio de gobierno, el secretario de Trabajo, Marath Bola\u00f1os, indic\u00f3 que, por decisi\u00f3n de Sheinbaum, se iniciar\u00e1 la \u201cinstauraci\u00f3n paulatina y gradual de la semana laboral de 40 horas\u201d, que deber\u00e1 concretarse a m\u00e1s tardar en enero de 2030<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
Bola\u00f1os explic\u00f3 que la reducci\u00f3n de la jornada laboral, que calific\u00f3 como una \u201cdeuda hist\u00f3rica\u201d, se llevar\u00e1 a cabo mediante un proceso de di\u00e1logo que comenzar\u00e1 el pr\u00f3ximo mes con empresarios, trabajadores y especialistas para definir los acuerdos y una propuesta de consenso que asegure un \u201cmodelo justo y eficaz\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Al defender la iniciativa, el secretario de Trabajo explic\u00f3 que la reducci\u00f3n de las horas de trabajo no implicar\u00e1 una disminuci\u00f3n de la productividad <\/strong>y agreg\u00f3 que lo que se busca es \u201cdignificar la existencia\u201d de los trabajadores al devolverles ocho horas a la semana. \u201cEstamos convencidos de que poniendo este tiempo libre en sus manos se contribuir\u00e1 al desarrollo nacional, al bienestar de sus familias y a la felicidad\u201d, agreg\u00f3.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
La mandataria tambi\u00e9n se comprometi\u00f3 en campa\u00f1a a mantener la pol\u00edtica de su antecesor, Andr\u00e9s Manuel L\u00f3pez Obrador (2018-2024), de fortalecimiento del salario m\u00ednimo. En diciembre pasado, Sheinbaum anunci\u00f3 un aumento del 12 % para este a\u00f1o, que llev\u00f3 la remuneraci\u00f3n diaria a 278,80 pesos (unos 13 d\u00f3lares).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Seg\u00fan cifras de la organizaci\u00f3n de investigaci\u00f3n independiente World Population Review, M\u00e9xico tiene un promedio anual de 2.207 horas laborales<\/strong>, lo que lo convierte en el pa\u00eds con mayor exceso de trabajo en el mundo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
