Menos a\u00fan, bastaron tres d\u00edas y diez escrutinios para elegir a Benedicto XV<\/strong>: el 3 de septiembre de 1914, pocas semanas despu\u00e9s del inicio de la Primera Guerra Mundial, la elecci\u00f3n recay\u00f3 en Giacomo Della Chiesa, arzobispo de Bolonia y cardenal durante s\u00f3lo tres meses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
El c\u00f3nclave m\u00e1s conflictivo y tambi\u00e9n el m\u00e1s largo del siglo XX fue el que eligi\u00f3 a P\u00edo XI, cardenal Achille Ratti, arzobispo de Mil\u00e1n. El humo blanco apareci\u00f3 el 6 de febrero de 1922, en la decimocuarta votaci\u00f3n en cinco d\u00edas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
En v\u00edsperas de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, sin embargo, tuvo lugar el C\u00f3nclave m\u00e1s breve del siglo pasado: tres votaciones en dos d\u00edas bastaron para que el cardenal Eugenio Pacelli, secretario de Estado de P\u00edo XI, ascendiera al trono papal con el nombre de P\u00edo XII, <\/strong>el 2 de marzo de 1939.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
Juan XXIII fue elegido en cuatro d\u00edas y 11 votos<\/strong>: el patriarca de Venecia, Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli, candidato a Papa ya en las previsiones, obtuvo su humo blanco el 28 de octubre de 1958.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
Lo mismo le ocurri\u00f3 a Pablo VI, el favorito en el c\u00f3nclave del 63, cuando fue elegido el 21 de junio despu\u00e9s de tres d\u00edas y seis escrutinios<\/strong>. Fue una sorpresa que el 26 de agosto de 1978 fuera elegido Juan Pablo I: Albino Luciani, Patriarca de Venecia, alcanz\u00f3 el qu\u00f3rum de votaciones en dos d\u00edas y cuatro votaciones.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
Y, despu\u00e9s de s\u00f3lo 33 d\u00edas de pontificado, le sucedi\u00f3 -de manera tambi\u00e9n sorprendente- el cardenal polaco Karol Wojtyla, arzobispo de Cracovia, Juan Pablo II, elegido en la octava votaci\u00f3n del tercer d\u00eda del C\u00f3nclave, el 16 de octubre de 1978.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
